Tardy

Blearily I turned under the blanket, looking at the digital output of my analog clock, narrowing my eyes to focus on the hands of the clock. 6:45. I sighed and snoozed the alarm, rolling back away from the clocks, the phones, the responsibility. I tugged the blanket above my head and closed my eyes.

6:55. I needed to get up soon.

7:05. If I didn’t shower now, I’d have to rush…

7:15: I slowly rose from my bed, shifting to my side and swinging my legs off the bed. I would be tardy for sure now. Blinking away the sleep and yawning, I stretched and stood. Time to get ready.
